How do we take care of sickness in our family?? Diffuse essential oils!
So today I celebrate 32 years here on earth. God has blessed me with some amazing years for sure, but the last 13 years have been the absolute best, I think. I am growing, maturing, learning, and loving more every single day these last 13 years, but today was especially blessed. Today was supposed to be cold and rainy up here in North Dakota; but God gave me a beautiful birthday present with 60 degree weather and bright and sunny. It was amazing.
Our oldest son, Logan, woke up this morning though, with that dreaded cold that’s running around. You know the one… the headache, the painful eyes, the sinus problem and that scratchy voice with the itchy throat. Yep, that one. So he got to stay home from church today. While my husband was on his way to pick up my birthday cake, our youngest son, Morgan, started to get a headache. We didn’t think anything of it, because he always gets a headache and feels sick in the car.
When we got home with family coming over, poor Logan was sleeping on the couch. But what a sweet, considerate young man he is, when we walked in the door, he headed right to his room so he wouldn’t get anyone else sick. So he’s been sleeping this whole day away, and Morgan fell victim to the cold around 3:30 this afternoon and has been sleeping on and off. And to top it off, my mother has gotten the cold as well. So what do I do?
I pull out my Scentsy diffuser from my room and take it to Logan’s room. I love this diffuser; I’ve had it for three years, and not a problem has ever been had with it. But, a problem wouldn’t hurt my feelings too bad, since our diffusers come with a Lifetime Manufacturer’s Warranty with them. The great thing about these diffusers is that you can use any type of essential oil in them, and it will not void the warranty. Isn’t that amazing?
Anyway, so I load the diffuser with regular tap water (this is another amazing point, no special water needed!) and put a few drops of my GoDesena Eucalyptus Globulous oil in the water, and wallah! Logan has good aromatherapy running through his room. And since the lights effects in our diffusers run on different settings than the actual diffusing of the water, he can sleep in the dark, without any color coming from the machine (but he still loves the rainbow colors).
As for the rest of the family, there is another diffuser setting on our table right now, glowing so pretty, and diffusing the same Eucalyptus into the air so that we can all enjoy the benefits of aromatherapy.
